AP Cabinet nod for Rs 1,100 cr benefit to ryots
Hyderabad, June 30 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet today approved payment of Rs 5,000 each to over 22 lakh farmers not covered by the Centre's loan waiver scheme.
The decision would cost the state exchequer Rs 1100 crore, Information Minister A Ramanarayana Reddy told reporters after a Cabinet meeting under Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
As many as 80 lakh farmers in the state were benefitted from the Centre's loan waiver scheme, he added.
The State Government, in coordination with the Centre, had taken all necessary steps to ensure there was no shortage of fertilizers for the current Khariff season, he added.
