AIR to broadcast 'Vidya Tarangaalu' from tomorrow
Hyderabad, Jun 30 (UNI) All India Radio (AIR) Director Marketing Division, Sailaja Suman today announced that AIR would broadcast 'Radio Lessons' in 'Vidya Tarangaalu' programme in all subjects catering to students of standard Eight and Ten in the state from tomrrow.
Addressing a press conference here, Ms Suman said the programmes would be broadcast from July one to March 31 from 12 stations in the state. Each programme would be transmitted for 30 minutes on Telugu, Hindi, English, Sciences, Social and Environmental studies, enrichment and general awareness every day from 1825 hrs to 1855 hrs except on Fridays, Teacher Educator programmes would be broadcast every Friday from 1240 hrs to 1340 hrs.
Stating that the objective of the programme was to supplement the classroom teacher's work and help to cover the prescribed syllabus more effectively and comprehensively, she said the lessons were prepared with the collaboration of State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT).
The lessons would also help the teachers to upgrade their skills as required in the present competitive world.
SCERT and AIR would conduct process evaluation separately to assess the utility of the programmes and understanding the content, among the students, Ms Suman added.
