Karur, Jun 29 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tamil Nadu unit Vice-President H Raja today strongly criticised the Jammu and Kashmir government's decision to withdraw its earlier order of transferring forest land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SMSB), in the Kashmir valley.

Addressing a press conference here, he said while the Union Government was spending a huge sum for Haj pilgrims, it was meaningless to protest against the transfer of the land to the SMSB. The agitators should realise that the transfer was for the benefit of Amarnath pilgrims.

To a question, he said the Congress led UPA Government and its finance Minister P Chidambaram had failed to curb the price rise and inflation.

In fact, Mr Chidambaram's poor handling of the finance portfolio would definitely increase the inflation rate further, he said and demanded the resignation of Mr Chidambaram.

He said there was utter confusion among the UPA partners over the nuke deal and added it was high time they resigned and faced fresh elections to Lok Sabha.

Referring to serious differences among the family members of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, he alleged that though Mr Karunanidhi was ruling the state for the fifth time, Tamil Nadu was in severe crisis in many aspects, he added.
