Six new engineering colleges from next month in Bihar:Modi

Patna, Jun 29 (UNI) Bihar's deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi today said that six new engineering colleges will start functioning from next month in the state.

Mr Modi said an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and a branch of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will come in Patna next month while the teaching will begin in four other new engineering colleges, providing opportunities for quality technical education to aspiring students.

He said the government has appointed fifty per cent women during the recruitment of a large number of teachers in the state, adding several other measures were also being initiated for the welfare and empowerment of the women.

Expressing his satisfaction on performance of ministers in the state, deputy Chief Minister said Bihar could have moved faster on development path if such efforts were displayed by the ministers in earlier regime.
