PDP welcomes taking over of Amarnath arrangements by govt

Srinagar, Jun 29 (UNI) Welcoming the move of taking over the responsibility of providing facilities by the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) for the Amarnath pilgrimage by the government, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) said the land transfer to SASB order should be immediately revoked.

''We welcome this move as from the beginning we were demanding that government should take over the responsibility of the annual pilgrimage,'' PDP spokesperson Syed Basharat Bukhari told UNI.

He said the government should immediately revoke the land transfer order without any further delay.

About the withdrawal from the Ministry and also support to Congress led coalition government, he said it was final.

''Our first priority is how to restore peace in the valley,'' he added.

He said the PDP was demanding that the order should be revoked so that peace could be restored.
