Pak rangers-BSF hold quarterly meet at Wagah

Lahore, Jun 29: A nine-member delegation of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) met a Pakistan Rangers' team at the Wagah joint check post for a quarterly co-ordination meeting on Saturday, June 28. Pakistan Rangers Punjab Deputy Director General Brig Qaiser Khan Tareen led the Pakistani team and Indian BSF DIG G S Virk headed the Indian delegation.

The meeting, according to the Daily Times, was part of a mutually agreed programme aimed at evaluating measures by both border forces for managing border duties. Issues relating to inadvertent border crossing, smuggling of contraband items, simultaneous co-ordinated patrolling along the international border were discussed during the meeting. The Pakistani team also highlighted the issue of Pakistani prisoners in Indian jails and presented a list of 196 Pakistanis in Indian jails to the BSF team.
