NSSO celebrates 'Statistics Day'

Vijayawada, June 29 (UNI) The National Samples Survey Organisation (NSSO) today celebrated the 'Statistics Day.' Talking to newspersons here, NSSO Director P V Prasad said the aim of the celebration was to educate the youth on the importance of statistics in country's economy and individual life.

Recalling the services of Prof P C Mahlanobis, who played a pivotal role in the growth of statistics in the country, he said the Centre had declared June 29, the birth anniversary of Mahlanobis, as 'Statistics Day.' UNI CS DS RL AS1648
