MP in grip of corruption: Uma

Jabalpur, June 29 (UNI) Bharatiya Jan Shakti Founder-President and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti today alleged that the state was in the grip of corrupt persons.

''The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party's chieftain, members of the Council of Ministers, opposition leaders and the Lokayukta are mired in corruption charges. The Lokayukta probe against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his wife -- in the dumper purchase case -- is pending for months,'' she told reporters here.

Ms Bharti pointed out that despite evidence being available of corruption complaints against several state ministers, only one dalit and one tribal minister were found guilty by the Lokayukta.

''The BJS has announced 40 candidates thus far for the Madhya Pradesh polls and will fight alone for all 230 seats,'' she added.
