JD(U) Youth Wing demands Chidambaram's resignation

Tiruchirapalli, Jun 29: The Tamil Nadu unit of the JD(U) Youth Wing has demanded that Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram resign, owning moral responsibility for the Centre's ''failure'' to control the soaring prices of essential commodities.

In a statement here, Youth Wing state unit Secretary Vaiyapuri said a resolution to this effect was adopted at its office bearers meeting held here yesterday.

The meeting also appealed to the State Government to install statue of former Chief Minister K Kamaraj in every school. If there were any practical difficulties in installing the statue in every school, it should take steps at least to fix his portrait in the schools.

The meeting urged the Centre to conduct a CBI inquiry into sanctioning of housing loans allegedly with forged documents by Bank of Baroda's Chinnakadai Street Branch authorities.
