Efforts on to save N-deal and coalition: Cong
New Delhi, June 29 (UNI) The Congress today said it would continue efforts to save the nuclear deal and the UPA coalition, immediately after the CPI(M) warned that the Left parties would withdraw support to the Government if it went ahead with the ''harmful'' deal.
''We will continue to try our efforts to save the deal and the coalition. But we will not be as reactive as the Left,'' Congress Spokesperson Jayanti Natarajan told a TV channel after an emergency meeting of the CPI (M) Polit Bureau.
Echoing her views, AICC General Secretary Ahmed Patel said the doors with the Left were still open, and that the issue would be resolved through talks.
''We will continue talks with the Left as well as with our allies,'' he said, stressing that the nuclear deal was in national interest and would help in resolving the energy crisis.
