Curfew lifted in MP town

Jabalpur, June 29 (UNI) Curfew was lifted from the Cantonment Police Station limits here where where it was imposed in the aftermath of two groups clashing following an attempt to demolish a flat near a place of worship and a crowd stoning police on Friday.

Collector Hariranjan Rao said 15 people, including five police personnel, were injured during the incident. Police lobbed tear gas canisters and used force but in vain leading to clamping of curfew at 1600 hrs on Friday.

Curfew was relaxed for four hours from 1500 hrs yesterday. No untoward incident took place after curfew was clamped and during the relaxation period. After reviewing situation of the affected area, curfew was lifted at 0600 hours this morning.
