Country needs another green revolution: President

Bhopal, Jun 29: Referring to the progress being made in the field of technical education, President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today said the country needed another green revolution to increase agricultural productivity.

Ms Patil, while inaugurating administrative and academic building of the Bhoj Mukt University here, said success in green revolution, white revolution and IT revolution reflected achievements in higher education system.

''However, another green revolution is needed to increase agricultural production,'' she said.

The President stressed on the need for providing better health and educational facilities to people.

''More educated and trained personnel are required in the present world based on higher education and technology. Universities, especially open universities, can effectively discharge responsibility to educate people in new knowledge,'' she said.

Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan were present.
