Congress prepared for any sacrifice on Indo-US Nuclear Deal
Patna, Jun 29 (UNI) The Congress today affirmed that it was prepared for any sacrifice in the national interest, saying the successful forging of the proposed Indo-US Nuclear Deal would prove to be a milestone in fulfilling the energy requirement of the country in coming days.
Chief spokesman of the Bihar Pradesh Congree Committee (BPCC) Kripanath Pathak told UNI here that approval of the propsed Indo-US Nuclear Deal was the need of the hour and the government must go ahead with the deal at any cost to fulfil the energy requirement of the country.
''No country can afford to become a superpower without achieving self-sufficiency in the energy sector,'' Mr Pathak said, adding that India must stick to its commitment to the propsed Nuclear Deal.
The chief spokesman claimed that the indication given by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi in favour of the proposed deal was being widely welcomed by all sections in the country.
''The Congress has always been committed to the cause of the nation and it would would not hesitate to sacrifice on the issue if the situation so warranted,'' he added.
