SHO charged with rape dismissed

Karnal, June 26 (UNI) The Haryana government has dismissed an SHO of Haryana Police, who allegedly raped a married woman in a police station in this district.

''Inspector Jai Singh, Station House Officer of Police Station Nissing in district Karnal has been dismissed with immediate effect as he was allegedly involved in a rape case,'' an official spokesman said here today.

Jai Singh had allegedly called the woman, who was having strained relations with her in-laws, to the police station and raped her.

A case had been registered against the accused and an enquiry ordered against him. He was earlier suspended from his post.
