PMC demands action against culprits

Puducherry, Jun 28: The Puducherry Munnetra Congress(PMC) today demanded stringent action against those who indulged in violence here following rumours that Chief Mininster N Rangasamy had resigned.

A delegation of PMC led by party spokesman K Lakshminarayanan , an MLA, called on Lt Governor Bhopinder Singh at 'Rajnivas' and apprised him of the violent incidents that took place yesterday.

In a memorandum submitted to the Lt Governor, Mr Lakshminarayanan said the removal of the Chief Minister was an internal party matter of the Congress and it was not fair to take to the streets and unleash violence, creating panic and inconvenience to the public.

The miscreants indulged in violence right from Thattanchavady to the town for two hours, he charged, adding stringent action must be taken against the culprits.
