Omar Geelani meet to discuss latest Kashmir situation

Sriangar, Jun 28 (UNI) Chairman of the breakaway Hurriyat Conference (HC) Syed Ali Shah Geelani and head of the moderate HC Moulvi Omar Farooq today met to discuss the prevailing situation in Kashmir.

Official sources said Mirwaiz Omar, who was on way to Srinagar from Airport, was taken to Mr Geelani's Hyderpora residence by people who were protesting on the airport road this afternoon.

A spokesman of the HC Aiyaz Akbar confirmed that Mr Geelani and Mirwaiz Omar were holding meeting.

He said a large nubmer of people waiting outside Mr Geelani's house wanted them to lead a procession against the transfer of forest land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).

The two were discussing the latest situation , he said.

This is the second meeting between the two leaders after they decided to fight jointly against the land transfer.
