Monsoon vigorous in Orissa

Pune, June 28 (UNI) The Southwest Monsoon has been vigorous in Orissa and east Uttar Pradesh and active in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chattisgarh. It has been subdued in Gujarat, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.

Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Orissa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Konkan, Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Jharkhand, east and west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashimr, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and at many places in West Bengal, Sikkim, Punjab, Telangana and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers have also occurred at a few places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, east Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, north and south interior Karnataka, and at isolated places in Saurashtra, Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
