Governor's rule in J

Srinagar, Jun 28 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir is heading for Governor's Rule as the Congress-led government was reduced to a minority today after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) pulled out from the government, alleging that it cannot remain a mute spectator to the sufferings of the populace in the wake of the controversial allotment of forest land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).

The Ghulam Nabi Azad government with 22 Congress and 8 associate MLAs besides the support of two Communist Party of India(M) representatives in the 87-member Assembly, was still 12 legislators short of the majority mark after PDP having 18 members pulled out of the coalition.

The National Conference (NC) having 24 MLAs in the 87-member house has not opened its cards yet.
