Cinema fast falling out of fashion in Britain

London, June 28 : It seems that British audiences are no more interested in going to theatres to watch a movie, for the number of cinema goers have dropped by 11 million from last year.

According to the figures, the number of cinema audiences dropped by 19 pct last month.

Even the release of Harrison Ford's epic Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull failed to attract audiences, reports The Sun.

In May, around 12.7 million people went to the movies compared to 15.7 million in the same month last year.

The reasons behind such a drop are believed to be economy, weather and some uninspiring films. Fans also need to wait only a short time for DVD releases.

Overall cinema audiences are down by seven per cent this year, which, if the trend continues, means the number of movie-goers will dip from 162 million last year to 151 million.
