Chamundi Hills to be declared notified area for devt
Mysore, Jun 28 (UNI) The renowned pilgrimage centre of Chamundi Hills will be declared a notified area shortly for overall development, Karnataka Housing Minister Krishnaiah Shetty said today.
Talking to newspersons after holding a review meeting atop the Chamundi Hills, he said an Expert Committee with representatives from the Revenue, Forest, Muzrai and Tourism departments, would be set up to prepare a blue print for development.
Mr Shetty said the government would soon launch a massive scheme for the restoration and development of Muzrai temples in the state.
The government would consider increasing the monthly premium of priests of temples coming under the Muzrai department.
He said 15 lakh houses would be constructed in the next five years for people living below the poverty line and the poor.
