Army jawan commits suicide near LOC in Jammu

Jammu, Jun 28 (UNI) An Army Jawan allegedly committed suicide in nowshera area near line of control (LOC) in Rajouri District, fficial spokesman said today.

The Jawan, identified as sepoy godse lalsu sopan Rao of Maratha light infantry shot himself dead with his service weapon while on duty at Peer Bhadesar on the LOC at around 1730 hrs yesterday, the spokesman said.

Army has constituted a court of inquiry (COI) to ascertain the reasons forcing the soldier to take this extreme step.

Police have also registered a case in this regard.
