Three drown in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jun 27 (UNI) Three people, including two women, drowned in the Kashmir region overnight, official sources said today.

They said the body of a 36-year-old cloth merchant from Janipur, Jammu was fished out from river Jehlum at Kandizal, Awantiopora, in south Kashmir.

It was however, not immediately clear how he drowned, they said adding that police have started investigation.

The body of a woman Tahira, missing since June 15, was also fished out from Sindh near Preng in Ganderbal district.

An 18-yer-old girl Stanzin Yangdol drowned in Hanu nallah in Leh. Her body was fished out at a distance, the sources added.
