Southwest monsoon vigorous in Punjab

Pune Jun 27 (UNI) The southwest Monsoon has been vigorous in Punjab, active in Assam and Meghalaya and subdued in Gujarat, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu.

In the regions where the southwest Monsoon is yet to set in, the day temperatures were below normal in some parts of west Rajasthan.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, north Chattisgarh, south Madhya Maharashtra and at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, north Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, interior Karnataka and at isolated places in west Rajasthan, Gujarat, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at a few places in Orissa.

Heavy rains have occurred at many places in Assam and Meghalaya, Punjab and west Madhya Pradesh.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar and at many places in Arunachal pradesh, Marathwada, Telangana, Kerala and at a few places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, east Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, north interior Karnataka, south interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Bihar,west Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir,west Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Gujarat state,Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep.
