Revenue official caught red handed while accepting bribe

Patna, Jun 27 (UNI) A revenue official was arrested from his residence at Civil Lines locality under Town police station in Buxar district when he was accepting bribe of Rs 3,200.

Official sources said a team of state vigilance bureau, led by deputy police superintendent Vijay Kumar Srivastav, arrested Mr Narain Chaudhary from his residence while he was receiving Rs 3,200 from one Braj Kishore Prasad to extend favour in settling a mutation dispute.

'' A complaint was earlier lodged with vigilance bureau by Mr Prasad alleging that Mr Chaudhary was demanding illegal gratification from him to dispose of a litigation case regarding his ancestral land,'' sources said, adding the trap was laid after the complaint was found to be prima facie true.

The arrested official was being brought here for his production before the Special Vigilance Court.
