Pakistan renews invitation to PM

New Delhi, Jun 27 (UNI) Pakistan today extended a fresh invitation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to visit that country and India said it hoped to finalise the dates shortly.

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmod Qureshi who held talks with External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee here, said the Prime Minister's visit (to Pakistan) was ''long overdue.'' ''The visit could add a new chapter in our relations...

We are looking forward to his visit to Islamabad,'' he said at a joint press conference alongwith the External Affairs Minister.

Mr Mukherjee said in reply to a question that the Prime Minister had accepted the invitation and dates for the visit were being worked out.

''...We hope we will shortly able to finalise the dates,'' he added.
