Mother and daughter commit suicide

Gulbarga, June 27 (UNI) In a tragic incident, a mother and her daughter committed suicide while two other children battling for life after consuming poison in Anapur village in Yadgir Taluk in the District today.

Police said that last night Ananthamma (35) gave poison to her three children before consuming it. She and her daughter Annamma (8) were found dead while two other children were rushed to Government Hospital in Mehabobnagar in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh State this morning.

It was stated that Ananthamma's brother Ananthappa had eloped with a girl of the neighbour house a few days ago. Since then the neigibours had been harassing her to disclose the where about of the girl. Unable to bear the harassment she took the extreme step when her husband was away in Hyderabad.
