MCX Composite index of metal, energy rises

Mumbai, June 27 (UNI) The composite index of metals, energy and agro-commodities was up by 3,237.77 points, at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) today.

Gold August 08 contract gained by 1.44 per cent to Rs 12,783 per 10 grams. Silver September 08 contract went up by 1.63 per cent to Rs 24,683 per kg. Silver November 08 contract improved by 1.63 per cent to Rs 24,854 per kg, an MCX release said.

Platinum September 08 contract was up by 0.76 per cent to Rs 28,736 per 10 grams. Copper August 08 contract rose by 0.40 per cent to Rs 359.95 per kg. Aluminum July 08 contract gained by 0.57 per cent to Rs 131.85 per kg. However, Lead July 08 contract went down by 0.06 per cent to Rs 78.20 per kg.

Crude oil July 08 contract was up by 2.81 per cent to Rs 6,067 per barrel.

Cardamom July 08 and August 08 contract fell by 1.08 per cent to Rs 687 per kg and 2.21 per cent to Rs 607.75 per kg respectively.

Turmeric August 08 contract gained by 1.99 per cent to Rs 4,557 per quintal.

Jute August 08 contract went up by 1.29 per cent to Rs 1,650 per quintal. Mentha oil July 08 and August 08 gained by four per cent to close at Rs 523.20 per kg and 4.01 per cent to Rs 529.60 per kg respectively, the release added.
