Man held in connection with rape of minor
Kannur, Jun 27 (UNI) Police today arrested a 55-year-old man in connection with rape of an eight-year-old girl at Kottayam Angadi near Koothuparamba in Kannur district.
According to official sources, the accused was identified as P Hashim hailing from a nearby area.
Hashim, a relative of the girl, offered sweets and some money to her while she was returning from a "Madrassa" yesterday. Then he took the girl to an unoccupied house in the area.
The girl later told her mother about the incident. She was admitted to the government hospital here.
