Man gets lifer for murdering wife
Kolhapur, Jun 27 (UNI) A local court today sentenced a man, who was earlier acquitted from the charges of murdering his first wife and sons, to life imrisonment for murdering his second wife.
According to the prosecution, on the night of November 28, 2006, the convict Ramachandra Vittal Patil (63), killed his second wife Anandi (45), doubting her character, by stabbing her in the chest.
Additional District Sessions Court judge awarded Patil with life imprisonment under section 302 of Indian Penal Code.
Earlier, Patil, who was awarded death sentence by a local court on the charges of murdering his first wife Sirmabai (30) and two sons-- Amar (7) and Arun (5), was acquitted by the High Court on his plea.
