Maharashtrians should get more jobs: Raj Thackeray
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, June 27(UNI) Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray today said if the Marathi-speaking people are given opportunities they can prove themselves.
Addressing a press conference here after holding a public meeting to canvass for the MNS candidate from the Marathwada graduate constituency, Raj said the Railways filled 4,500 posts of TCs this year. Of them, 90 to 95 per cent are outsiders, while the percentage of the local candidates was very meagre.
''Don't you think that our youth are not eligible for even a TC's post'' he asked.''There is an intentional conspiracy against the people of Maharashtra,'' he alleged.
Raj said the MNS would launch an agitation to demand that the local people be offered more opportunities in the recruitment process.
On the issue of importance of regional language in the globalisation era, he said Japan and China are the top developed countries around the world but they have not given up their culture and language.
