Life term for 36 in Bihar
Patna, Jun 27 (UNI) Altogether 36 people were awarded life sentence in two separate murder cases at Motihari and Gaya in the state today.
Additional district and sessions judge of Motihari Gangadhar Prasad today sentenced rigorous life imprisonment to 26 accused in connection with triple murder case after they were found guilty.
According to the charges, all the 26 convicts were involved in the killing of Kameshwar Singh, Subodh Mahto and Nagendra Mahto at Dhanhar Bihuli village under Ramgarhwa police station in East Champaran district on September 18, 2006.
They were shot dead by the convicts following a dispute over fishing in a local pond.
In a separate case at Gaya, Justice J Katiar of the fast track court awarded life imprisonment to ten people after they were found guilty of killing of Natho Yadav, who was shot dead following a land dispute at Burhginjoi village under Fatehpur police station area in Gaya district on October 30, 1987.
