Kidnapped contractor, son rescued

Kolhapur, Jun 27 (UNI) Police today rescued a contractor and his son, who had been abducted for ransom, within 24 hours of the crime and have arrested four people.

Vinod Suresh Bansode (34) and his 12-year-old son Rahul were abducted around noon yesterday. The father and son were returning to Kolhapur in a car when four people blocked their path by leaving a bicycle on the road.

When Vinod halted the car to avoid the bicycle, the four overpowered him and took over his car. They demanded Rs 2 lakh after calling up his residence. Vinod's kin lodged a complaint with the police.

On receiving information about the car being sighted, a police team lay in wait on the city's outskirts and nabbed the four.

The culprits have been identified as Sandeep Vilas Ingale (24), Gurunath Karee (24), Sushant Uttam Kurne (18) and Chandrakant Javer (21).
