HC dismisses petition against ministers
Kochi, Jun 27 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today dismissed a revision petition seeking a direction from it to register criminal cases against State Ministers P K Gurudasan and Benoy Viswom, and Merchiston Estate owner Xavi Mano Mathew, in connection with the Merchiston land deal.
Dismissing the petition, Mr Justice V Ramkumar observed that the state government had already ordered a detailed vigilance inquiry into the land deal in 2007.
While such an inquiry was ordered, a complaint of this nature targeting the two ministers could only be viewed with 'suspicion', he said.
The review petition was filed by State Secretary of Lawyers' Congress P Rahim against the order of the Vigilance Court, Thiruvananthapuram, which dismissed his plea to register criminal cases against the Ministers.
