CM assures to 10% quota in quarries

Tirupati, June 27 (UNI) With a view to uplifting the Veddhera Community and their economic status, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr.Y.S.Rajashekara Reddy today assured to provide ten per cent reservation for them in quarries .

Addressing a meeting conducted by the state Veddhera Community here, he said on the lines of ''pavala vaddi'', scheme for the Self-Helf Groups, his government would take steps to provide financial assistance to the community to set up crushing plants in various places in the state.

To provide political status to the community, the Congress government has provided four Municipal Corporation Chairmanships out of 123 and one seat in 26 Corporations in the state, he said.

A meeting would be conducting in Hyderabad with the concerned officials on July 21 to take up various issues, including reservation to the Community, he said.
