BJP general strike affects normal life

Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 27: The BJP-sponsored dawn-to-dusk hartal in protest against the attack on its youth wing workers yesterday allegedly by DYFI activists, affected normal life in the state capital today.

However, no violence was reported from any part of the district.

Business houses were closed and the Public transport kept off the roads. The educational institutions were also closed as part of the hartal.

The attendance in the government offices was low.

In the morning, the BJP-Yuva Morcha activists took out a march in the city.

The BJP leaders had alleged that the police remained passive when the DYFI activists attacked the Yuva Morcha when they were on a sit-in, in front of the state secretariat yesterday.
