Badal condoles Field Marshal Manekshaw's demise

Chandigarh, Jun 27 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today mourned the demise of Field Marshal Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw who passed away yesterday in Tamil Nadu.

In his condolence message, Mr Badal said Amritsar-born Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw symbolised the rare blend of courage and potential on the one hand and astute and humane approach to the issues concerning the soldiery on the other.

The Chief Minister lauded the Manekshaw's role in 1971 Indo-Pak War for liberation of Bangladesh that forms an outstanding chapter in the history of military campaigns all over the world.

Meanwhile, Member Parliament and Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal also condoled the death of the Legendry Army Commander Field Marshal Manekshaw and described him as a noble son and brave patriot par excellence.
