7 injured as ULFA rebels trigger blast in Nagaon

Guwahati, Jun 27 (UNI) At least seven people were injured today in a powerful bomb explosion by the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) at Nagaon town, about 125 km from here.

The bombing took place near the busy Haibargaon Railway station of Nagaon at about 1915 hrs.

The blast was the first of its kind in four months and just 24 hours after the ceasefire extended by a section of the ULFA.

The ULFA has blamed the split amongst its cadres as a handiwork of the government and vowed to retaliate.

Police have beefed up security, as they were apprehending more such explosion in the coming days.
