2 more succumb to rain-related diseases
Mumbai, June 27 (UNI) Two more people succumbed to rain-related diseases in the city today, taking the toll to 20 since the onset of the monsoon this year.
According to civic officials, both the deaths occurred at Nair Hospital. A 72-year-old man, who was admitted in the wee hours today, died due to gastroenteritis, and a one-year-old infant, who was admitted on June 18, succumbed to fever.
In all, 258 patients have been admitted to various civic-run hospitals in the last 24 hours. Of them, 158 have been admitted for fever, 45 for gastroenteritis, 12 for leptospirosis, four for dengue and 39 for malaria.
