SHO rapes woman in police station in Haryana

Karnal, Jun 26 (UNI) An SHO of Haryana Police allegedly raped a married woman in a police station in this district today.

Jai Singh, SHO, posted in Nissing town, allegedly called the woman, who was having strained relations with her in-laws, to the police station and raped her, police sources said.

A case had been registered against the accused and an enquiry was ordered against him, they said.

The victim, who was married in March this year to a boy whose parents had strongly opposed the marriage, was provided with two security guards as per a court order. However, It was yet to be ascertained whether the guards had accompanied the woman to the police station.

The sources said the rape had been confirmed after the medical examination of the woman.

Meanwhile, scores of local residents gheraoed the Nissing police station and demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
