Shahabuddin granted permission for medical check-up at AIIMS
Patna, Jun 26 (UNI) Patna High court today granted permission to RJD MP Md Shahabuddin, convicted in a kidnapping case, and facing several other criminal cases, for post-surgical medical check-up at All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS) in New Delhi.
He was earlier operated for spinal cord disorder at the AIIMS.
A division bouch of the court comprising Justice Shivkirti Singh and Abhijit Sinha granted permission to RJD MP on his petition seeking direction to the state government to allow him for medical check-up at AIIMS.
The court directed that Md Shahabuddin be allowed to remain in hospital for only three days for medical check-up, and if he refused to return after the said period, police would be free to use minimum force on him.
Earlier, counsel of the RJD MP submitted before the court that Md Shahabuddin was operated for spinal cord disorder at AIIMS in 2006 and was required to visit the hospital for medical check-up again, but permission for the same was not granted by the state government.
Opposing the plea of the RJD MP's counsel, the state counsel submitted before the court that track record of Md Shahabuddin had not been good as he was in the habit of spending more time than required for treatment in the hospital.
