Rupee climbs 3-week high at 42.68/69 per USD
Mumbai, Jun 26: On Thursday, June 26, Rupee climbed to a fresh three-week high at 42.68/69 per US Dollar, stronger by five paise from its previous close of 42.73/74 per Dollar following the positive sentiments in stock market.
The Indian unit gained as banks sold Dollars to tide over a cash crunch in the domestic money market, and positive global cues after the Federal Reserve held the interest rate steady, dealers said.
Backhome, the central bank had raised its key lending rate by 50 basis points to 8.5 per cent, that supported to local unit to improve against greenback, dealers added.
