Rail accident averted

Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, Jun 26 (UNI) Passengers of Chennai-bound Vaigai Superfast Express Train had a miraculous escape, when the track developed a three-foot long crack seconds after its passage, at at Thomaiyarpuram, near here, today.

Railway sources said the crack was noticed by K Marudupandi (13), who immediately alerted the Railway authorities.

All trains scheduled to pass through the section were immediately stopped.

Later, a technical team from Dindigul arrived at the spot and replaced the track, the sources added.
