Pseudo naxal, wife held for extortion

Hyderabad, Jun 26 (UNI) Sleuths of Commissioner's Task Force, today arrested a self-styled District Commander of People's War Group, and his wife on charges of extortion in various districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Mohd Rafeeuddin, operating under the name of Sudharshan Reddy alias Sudharshan Anna and his wife Zameer Unnisa alias Shakeela allegedly extorted money from doctors, bank officers, businessmen and rich people.

Rafiuddin, a native of Jagityal in Karimnagar District, went to Saudi Arabia and Dubai and worked as a shop salesman. Upon return, the couple cultivated friendship with several rich people and used to blackmail them by showing some photographs and extorted large sums of money from them.

Four cellphones and SIM cards, a Honda City Car and gold jewellery weighing 25 tolas were seized from their possesion.
