MP: President's tour schedule modified

Bhopal, Jun 26: Hectic schedule awaits President Pratibha Devisingh Patil on her four-day visit to Madhya Pradesh from tomorrow though minor changes have been effected in her programmes at Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal and Gwalior.

She would now reach the state capital on June 29 though earlier she was scheduled to arrive here on the night of June 28. Additional programmes have been included at Indore and Bhopal, official sources said.

According to the revised tour schedule, Mrs Patil will reach Indore from Mumbai by an IAF aircraft in the afternoon of June 27.

After inaugurating the Choitram Netralaya the same day evening, she would inaugurate Devi Ahilya University's Media Bhavan at Takshashila complex on Khandwa road.

On June 28, the President will leave Indore for Ujjain, where she will offer prayers at the Mahakaleshwar temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in the country.

On her return to Indore the same day afternoon, she would attend the programmes of Madhya Bharat Hindi Sahitya Sammelan and Indore Paraspar Sahakari Bank.

The President will arrive in the state capital on June 29 to formally inaugurate the Administrative and Academic blocks of Madhya Pradesh Bhoj (Open) University and the Advanced Research and Development Centre of People's Group of Educational Institutions.

On the same day, the President will launch the state government's ''Usha Kiran Yojana'' and also release a book relating to it.

On June 30, Mrs Patil will leave here for Gwalior, where she will participate in the golden jubilee function of Madhav Institute of Technology and Science. From Gwalior, she will return to New Delhi in the evening of June 30.
