Over 50 PMK partymen joins DMK
Chennai, Jun 26 (UNI) More than 50 people from the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), including the party's Villupuram district office bearers, today quit the party and joined the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
PMK Villupuram West District vice-president S Periannan and Villupuram Municipality Councillor Ragupathy, along with others, called on DMK president and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at his Gopalapuram residence and joined the party.
Others who joined the party included office bearers of Kandamangalam, Chinnasalem and Mayilam panchayat union, a DMK release said here.
This was the second time, the PMK workers joined the DMK after the latter severed ties with the PMK on June 17.
A day after the DMK snapped ties with the PMK, the party's Tindivanam Municipality Chairman had quit the party and joined the DMK.
