One more killed in police firing, 300 injured so far in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jun 26 (UNI) One more person was killed when police opened fire and burst teargas shells to disperse demonstrators at different places in the city and other major towns in the valley, who were protesting against the transfer of forest land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) and death of three people and injuries to more than 300 during last three days.
A police spokesman said 33 security personnel, including 25 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) men and six police personnel and two Station House Officers were injured in todays clashes.
Massive protests continued throughout the Kashmir valley for the third day today, demanding cancellation of land transfer to SASB.
This is for the first time since 1990 that people took to streets in large numbers in Kashmir valley.
Official sources said one person was killed when police opened fire to disperse demonstrators at Kawdara in the down town city this afternoon.
With this so far four people were killed and more than 300 others, including police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, injured during the clashes since June 24.
