Mumbai Police leave for Sirsa to question Ram Rahim
Mumbai, Jun 26 (UNI) A team of city police, comprising officials from Crime Branch and Mulund police station, today left for Sirsa in Haryana to question Dera Sacha Sauda sect's controversial chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in connection with the killing of a 48-year-old Sikh, who was gunned down by his private security guard at Mulund in north-east Mumbai last week.
Sources in Mumbai Police, while confirming this development, said the police team will also arrest his supporters, who were involved in rioting in Mumbai on June 21, besides questioning the Dera chief.
The sources said police have completed all legal formalities and have prepared a list of the accused who are absconding.
Police have reportedly prepared a list of offenders based on information provided by a bodyguard and others arrested earlier.
The bodyguard and some of the supporters of Ram Rahim are at present in the custody of Mumbai police.
On June 22, hundreds of members of Sikh community went on a rampage in Mulund and its neighbouring areas, protesting the killing of Balkar Singh.
