Mathur to take charge in Guwahati on July 4
Jaipur, Jun 26 (UNI) Assam Governor designate former Rajasthan Chief Minister Shiv Charan Mathur will assume charge in the gubernatorial post in Guwahati on July 4.
Talking to UNI here, Mr Mathur said he would be taking charge as governor on July 4.
Expressing satisfaction over his new assignment, the veteran Congress leader said Assam was not a new place for him as he had been there several times and has got reasonably good knowledge about geography, history, political situation and natural resources of the state.
Mr Mathur, who has already been conveyed of his new assignment by Rastrapati Bhawan, was due to receive official intimation of the appointment by the evening.
He said he would play best possible role in ensuring fast development in the North Eastern state, which had been gifted by the nature with vast mineral resources and oil reserves.
