Mastek to ramp up employee strength
Chennai, June 26 (UNI) Mastek, a leading IT player and enterprise solutions provider to insurance, government and financial services organisations, is establishing its development centre at Mahindra World City, near here, to seat over 6,000 employees as against its present total headcount of 4,000.
The company had acquired a 15-acre land and the civil works in respect of first tower had already been completed. The first tower, with an investment of Rs 60 crore, would have a seating capacity of 1,500 and would be ready in mid-September.
''Once it is ready, we will take up construction of three more towers which too would have a seating capacity of 1,500 each. The three towers would be ready in three to four years,'' Mastek Group CFO R S Desikan told newspersons here today.
This would be the company's first centre outside Maharashtra and they had chosen Chennai as the next major centre as it had been churning out bright engineers.
''The Chennai centre will be the nerve centre for some projects in the Asia pacific region as we will be getting into new areas of insurance,'' he added.
