Haryana increases milk purchase rates
Chandigarh, Jun 26: The Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Ltd has decided to increase milk purchase rates by Rs five per kg fat from existing Rs 260 per kg fat to Rs 265 per kg fat with effect from Thursday, June 26.
While stating this here, Cooperation Minister Harmohinder Singh Chatha said the decision has been taken in the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Federation.
Mr Chatha said the rate of the milk has been increased as during the summer season milk production declines considerably and to encourage the farmers to sell their milk to Dairy Cooperative Societies it became necessary to raise the rates.
With the increase in the milk rates, farmers would get 30 to 50 paise per kg more from sale of milk, he added.
